Lebeniye çorbası is a yoghurt soup found in both Turkish and Lebanese cooking, known in Ottoman times as lebeniye aşı. Its name and form shift from place to place: in Mardin it is called shepherd's soup, while Kilis makes plain and meatball versions. It is prepared in the Gaziantep kitchen too.
