Editor's Note
Ahlat's museum began in 1968 as a closed counterpart to the open-air Seljuk cemetery beside it, opening in 1971 with two halls of Turkish textiles, women's garments, manuscript Qurans and metal household wares. When the building proved too small, construction of a new home began in 2011, and the museum reopened on 13 June 2018. Its collection is now shown across four sections: archaeological, urban memory, foyer and garden.
