At the heart of its area lies the Mehmet Genç Complex (the Cevizli TEKEL Factory site), which borders the Dragos Hill, a First-Degree Natural Conservation Area, and a First-Degree archaeological conservation area. The nearby surroundings also include other buildings from the TEKEL factory era (the Mint) and building groups (the TEKEL Lodgings above the Marmaray line) that fall within the project's study area. For this reason, the actors in the area and its historical development must be read through different interfaces.
