Höşmerim

Höşmerim is a semolina halva made across the Marmara, Aegean and Central Anatolia, though in some provinces the name refers to a flour halva instead. In the Eastern Black Sea a different version is prepared by straining fresh milk and cooking it with cornmeal, cheese and salt. The same name covering different sweets spreads höşmerim across a wide range.
