The Batik Minaret is an important monument rising on the banks of the Euphrates River in the Halfeti district of Sanliurfa, bearing the architectural features of the Seljuk period. The geometric patterns carved into its rectangular-based body and the characteristic Western art-influenced motifs beautifully reflect Anatolia's east-west architectural synthesis. The word 'Batik' in the minaret's name points to the unique decorative technique of the structure. Even when old Halfeti was partially submerged with the construction of the Birecik Dam, the Batik Minaret has continued to stand as a resilient symbol of the region's historical identity. This structure underscores the commercial and religious importance of Halfeti, on the Silk Road, during the Seljuk and Ottoman periods. While visiting, lose yourself in the view of the minaret together with the flowing waters of the Euphrates; with the guidance of local guides, get to know the region's deep history by discovering ancient gravestones and ceramic finds.
