Sızır Eskiköy Mevki Kaya Yerleşimi

Editor's Note

There are numerous caves in the region, especially near the town of Sızır. Here there are cave systems spread over at least two levels and consisting of several rooms. Traces of human intervention can be seen throughout the caves. Some caves are made up of multiple rooms. This area was used as a settlement during the Roman or Hittite period. Rich in water resources, the region was certainly inhabited in even earlier times. Yet despite this potential, the area remains insufficiently studied from an archaeological standpoint.
