Editor's Note
In 1909, Sultan Mehmed V Reşad had it built by the architect Vedat for his consort Kamiras Hanım. However, Kamiras Hanım did not like the mansion and in 1910 gave it as a gift to her son, Prince Ziyaeddin Efendi. After Sultan Reşad's death in 1918, Prince Ziyaeddin moved here with his entire family. Ziyaeddin Efendi, known by the people of Kadıköy as something of a womaniser, had three wives, two sons, and five daughters. Each of the prince's wives settled with her children on a separate floor, while the ground floor was used by the stewards and concubines.
