Editor's Note
It was built in 1858, during the reign of Abdülmecid. A source noting that the construction date is uncertain states: "We could not find any information on when the mill was first built; however, there is a Council of State decision dated May 1869 stating that, following complaints that smoke from this mill was disturbing the surroundings, a man named Hüseyin Bey was assigned to inspect whether factories operating with steam engines complied with the regulation requiring them to install filters and to use quality fuel such as coke."
