Editor's Note
The Hadîka records: "Its founder is a benefactor named Hoca Bali. He himself is buried beside the road opposite his mosque. No date is inscribed on his gravestone. It has no neighborhood of its own." Near this mosque, which no longer exists, stood the public fountain and place of worship built by Has Odalı Ahmet Ağa in 1053 (1643), and opposite it the Esma Sultan School. The mosque is thought to have been built around 1000 (1591-92). The former name of İnadiye Mescidi Street, on which the mosque stood, was Tunus Bağı Avenue. Musahipzade Street likewise bore the name Bakkal Bekir Street.
