The Atik Pasha Waterfront Mansion is one of the Fer'iye palaces of the Çırağan Palace, spread over a wide area. While the adjoining high school was used as the Harem Wing, the Atik Pasha Mansion is known to have served as the Aghas' Wing. For many years the mansion was used by the Turkish Electricity Authority as a cable depot; its original wooden floors were torn out and a reinforced-concrete structure was inserted within the outer walls. In the 1980s, when it was arranged as a State Guesthouse, some columns were removed, steel frames were built, and an attic floor was created to add extra rooms.
