Editor's Note
The mosque, built during the reign of Sultan Mustafa II, was rebuilt as a raised structure (on a second floor above six shops) by Vizier İzzet Paşa, one of the viziers of Sultan Selim III. It was demolished in 1936 under the pretext of widening Eminönü Square.
