This is the remains of a Byzantine-period cistern uncovered during foundation excavations carried out in 1993 under the supervision of the Istanbul Archaeological Museums. No remains of the cistern's roof system survive. The cistern's exterior is plastered with cement, while traces of waterproof plaster can be seen on its interior walls. It is thought to date to the Early Byzantine period. The remains, now located inside the boiler room of the Turkuaz İş Merkezi, were placed under protection by decision of the conservation board.
