Editor's Note
The lodge was built in 1504 CE (910 AH) by Süleyman Rumî as a Halveti lodge. When Hazreti Ömer Fuadî Efendi (d. 1858), the deputy of Geredeli Halil Efendi, became its head sheikh, the lodge passed to the Şâbâniyye branch of the Halvetiyye order. According to information for the year 1967 given in the entry written by Hakkı Göktürk for Reşat Ekrem Koçu's Encyclopedia of Istanbul, on entering through the courtyard gate there was a room on the right, the ceremonial hall (semahane) opposite, and the tomb on the left. At that time, the roofs of the tomb, which contained three sarcophagi, and of the ceremonial hall had collapsed.
