Editor's Note
It is located in Istanbul's Fatih District, Ördekkasap Neighborhood, on plot 64 of block 2109. It was founded as a dervish lodge in 1802-1803 by Fındıkzade Sheikh Ahmet İshak Efendi. Documents in the foundation archives indicate that the building suffered a fire and was completely destroyed between 1956 and 1959 during the widening of Millet Avenue, with part of its plot remaining within the road. The rebuilding of the structure first came onto the agenda in 1991, when the Istanbul Regional Directorate of Foundations submitted a request to build a mosque and arcade to the Istanbul No. 1 Council for the Conservation of Cultural and Natural Heritage (KTVKK).
