Editor's Note
The mosque on Piyale Çıkmazı off Zincirlikuyu Avenue was built in 1565 by the Grand Admiral Piyale Pasha. The building, with masonry walls and a timber roof and portico, was rebuilt in 1989 as a square-plan, single-domed reinforced-concrete structure.
