Editor's Note
The building used today as a library by the Esenler Municipality was once the church of Litros village. It is the only surviving church ruin left by the Greeks in Esenler. This church in Litros, founded in the early 19th century, was dedicated to Saint George. The income of the village's church and school was met from the revenues of two sacred springs (ayazma): one was the Hagia Triada ayazma at Mevlanakapı, the other the Hagia Paraskevi ayazma.
