Work carried out by the Directorate of the İstanbul Archaeological Museums uncovered ruins in the park area thought to belong to a historic settlement. The remains of a historic canal were identified within the park. Because these historic remains lie near the ancient harbor settlement and the area was in use during the same periods as the ancient harbor, it is thought that this may have been a historic settlement site.
