Research carried out within the "İstanbul Prehistoric Research" project revealed that the ruins along the shore date from the 4th century BC to the 9th century AD (the Early Roman and Byzantine periods). The remains of the start of a breakwater were also identified 80–100 meters offshore at the tip of the structures, along with a group of block stones in the sea and the remains of a mortared wall running parallel to the row.
