Editor's Note
Located on Meserburnu Avenue beside the Sariyer Pier, this garden-set masonry structure was built in 1911 as a military guardhouse. It is two storeys high, in an eclectic style with medieval influences. With stone walls 90 cm thick, it has a terrace between its two small towers and battlements above. Its eight-line inscription bears the tughra of Sultan Mehmed Resad. Today it is used as the Officers' Military Club. (Orhan Erdenen, Bosphorus Waterside Residences, Vol. 2, p. 13.)
