Editor's Note
It stands at the junction of İstinye Avenue and Dr. Hilmi Alantar Street. The Hadîka states that its founder was a benefactor named Mahmud Çavuş, but notes that neither when he lived nor where he is buried is known. The minbar of the upper-story mosque was donated by a man named Osman Efendi. It was used as a school between 1948 and 1955 and later as a residence, then rebuilt from the ground up in masonry between 1972 and 1974. The ground floor, enclosed by neat cut-stone walls, was fitted with the muezzin's lodgings, ablution taps, and toilets.
