Editor's Note
Polonezköy, also known as Adampol, is a neighbourhood in the Beykoz district of Istanbul, founded by Polish emigres. It was inspired and funded by Prince Adam Jerzy Czartoryski and settled in 1842 by a small group of Poles who had fled after the failed November Uprising. Located about 30 km from the historic city centre, it still has a Polish community with its own church and cemetery.
