Editor's Note
Süleyman Paşa Palace, also known as the Hazinedarzade Mansion, was built in Ünye in 1808 by Hazinedarzâde Süleyman Paşa. Süleyman Paşa, who served as governor of the Canik sanjak and later of Trabzon, was regarded as one of the most powerful Ottoman pashas of his era. The building was depicted by the French artist Jules Laurens in 1847 and most likely burned down afterwards, around 1852/1853.
