It is located within the central district of Kars province. It was built in 1579 during the rebuilding of the city of Kars carried out by Lala Mustafa Pasha by order of Murad III. The mosque, which was repaired after the proclamation of the Republic, is owned by the General Directorate of Foundations. It was registered by decision no. 618 dated 11 May 1994. 1
