Döner Kümbet

Popularly known as the Döner Kümbet, the Tomb of Şah Cihan Hatun stands on Talas Avenue, across from the Seyyid Burhanettin Cemetery. One of the finest examples of Seljuk works in Kayseri, this tomb was, according to its inscription, built in the name of Princess Şah Cihan Hatun. The inscription, however, gives no date. In his work 'The Monuments of Kayseri,' Albert Gabriel compares the tomb with similar kümbets in Niğde and Ahlat and suggests that its construction date may be around 1275.
