Both ends of the bridge, which is 120 m in total length, rest on rock. It was well sited at a gorge where the Kızılırmak passes from the plain into the mountains. Belonging to the group of steep bridges, the structure has two arches. The main arch is pointed. Although the arch masonry at first appears to be built of normally sized stones, in places a finer course of stone can be seen forming the face of the arch. Likewise, within the arch the stones become smaller above a certain height compared with those below, forming the arch as they rise.
