Editor's Note
It stands on Kavaklı Avenue in the Hisar district of the Osmangazi borough. Built as a dervish lodge (zaviye) by Cizyedarzâde Hüseyin Ağa (d. 1783), a member of the Cizyedarzâde family who governed the Bursa Ayanlık, the building was later converted into a medrese. It is also argued that it first operated as a Naqshbandi Tekke. Its first sheikh is said to have been Küstahizâde Efendi (d. 1757) and its last sheikh Abdullah Efendi. The original structure, in a 'U' shape with its open end facing south, consists of two buildings from different periods that differ from one another in construction, architecture, and materials.
