Editor's Note
The Üftâde Mosque cemetery lies across from the mosque and the tomb of Üftâde Hazretleri. At his own request, Şeyh Üftâde's grandson İbrahim Efendi was buried in the garden outside the tomb after his death in 1678; the cemetery began to take shape in this way. The gravestones, dating from the 17th century to the early 20th century, provide information not only about the identities of those buried here but also about their social status.
