It lies within the bounds of the village of Kızılçubuk, in the Sarıkamış district of Kars province. On 25 December 1914, Enver Pasha, then serving as Minister of War and Deputy Commander-in-Chief, together with İhsan Pasha of the 9th Corps, set up headquarters in this area to march on Sarıkamış. The monument on this site, chosen by Erzurum Artillery Commander Staff Colonel Faruk Sungur, was built in 2014-2015 in memory of Hüseyin Ercan for the 100th-anniversary ceremonies of the Sarıkamış martyrs.
