Editor's Note
The Mahperi Hunat Hatun Caravanserai (also known as the Pazar Hatun Han) is a courtyard-type Seljuk caravanserai in the Pazar district of Tokat, on the Amasya-Tokat road, built in 1238-1239 by Mahperi Hunat Hatun, the wife of the famous Seljuk ruler Alaeddin Keykubad. Consisting of a courtyard and a covered section, the building has, beside the crown gate opening onto the courtyard, a spouted fountain with a dragon-head motif, while arcaded galleries and iwans in its eastern and western wings draw attention. The covered section has a three-aisle plan in which the central aisle is kept higher and wider than the side aisles.
