Editor's Note
The first building was probably constructed after the area, then a sub-district, was raised to district status under the name Koçhisar in 1873. However, after a fire it suffered in the 1920s, the wooden building was rebuilt in its present form, and in later years, owing to wear, it underwent restoration in 1989 and 2005. Roughly square in plan on the exterior, two stories tall and with a tiled roof, the building has been completely renewed apart from its body walls. The main entrance door, reached by stairs that were clearly added later, has a flattened arch, flanked on either side by a rather narrow round-arched window.
