Editor's Note
It was built in 1195 for Emir Süleyman Seyfeddin Şahinşah of the Mengücekids. The jambs of the muqarnas-niched portal are decorated with quadruple knots formed by intersecting octagons. The facade is bordered around its edge by strongly modelled fluted roll mouldings, while its interior section is framed as a broad border, in two rows at the top, with geometric motifs of two interlocking octagons joined to one another by eight pairs of arms. The inscription in raised thuluth script with scrolling rumi vines, squeezed just beneath the decoration above, has lost its force.
