Şems Bezirgân Camii

There is an inscription above the mosque's entrance in too poor a condition to be read. From information in the Hurufat Register dated 1115 AH / 1703 AD, it has been established that the building, whose construction date is unknown, was erected by Şems-i Bezirgân. The mosque, which has no portico, was built using rough-hewn stone from the foundation up to the minaret shaft and timber in the upper covering and minaret; it is laid out on a rectangular plan running north to south and covered by a wooden ceiling resting directly on the walls. A ceiling rosette of wood, with red cloth spread over its base, has been fixed to the ceiling in front of the mihrab.
