The inscription above the mosque's entrance giving information about its repair was stolen in recent years; measuring 80 x 70 cm, it was carved in relief on marble in four lines. The inscription is in celî sülüs script and written in Ottoman Turkish. The text of the inscription: "Seeking intercession, this fine work of mercy / The renewal of the mosque's structure by Akkaşzâde Ahmed / I gave its date with the threes, sevens, and forties / May divine grace reach you in both worlds, O brother." The abjad calculation of the repair inscription's last line yields the date 1653 CE. By estimation, the mosque is a 15th-century structure. Externally the building measures 18.07 x 12.60 m.
