İnkışla Köyü Camii

Editor's Note

According to the villagers, this historic mosque in İnkışla Village in the Gemerek district of Sivas was built by Safiye Hatun of Yozgat. Although there is no firm record of the era in which she lived, the mosque's features and the local accounts suggest she may have lived in the 17th century. The date "1959" inscribed inside the mosque most likely marks an extensive rebuilding, major repair, or thorough renovation that altered the mosque's original form. The mosque's original construction date is unknown because its founding inscription is illegible.
