Editor's Note
Zal Pasha Han (also known as Kohoz Han) is a late 16th-century Ottoman caravanserai located in the village of Yolcati (formerly Kohoz) on the western shore of Lake Van, in the Adilcevaz district of Bitlis province, Turkey. Situated on the Diyarbakir-Van-Tabriz-Aleppo route, the building has a medium-sized, three-nave plan, with the naves separated from one another by arched rows running east to west. Although the patron of the building cannot be identified with certainty, it is attributed to Zal Pasha, who appears to have been the sanjak governor of Adilcevaz during Suleiman I's Persian campaign of 1548-1549.
