The Başköy Primary School (İbtidai Mektep), located in Başköy in the Yeşilhisar district of Kayseri Province, bears a 1913 inscription placed later above its entrance by the Ministry of National Education. The building is known by the name of the village in which it stands. The similarity of its architectural features to early 20th-century schools in Kayseri suggests that it may have been built in 1913. With a roughly square rectangular plan on a north–south axis, the building has two storeys. The ground floor is entered through a door on the west façade.
