Built on a sloping hillside to the west of Başköy, the absence of any settlement or other buildings around the structure suggests that this may have been a monastery. The monastery was built on land sloping from west to east. Entry is through a space on the south façade. This space has a rectangular plan, with its west façade partly carved into the rock. It has a pointed-vaulted roof carried by five pointed arches running north–south. There are no frescoes or stone-carved decorations in this space. The monastery is entered through the entrance section to the north of the rectangular space.
