Editor's Note
It is thought to have been built in 1496 by Alaüddevle Bozkurt, Bey of the Dulkadirids. There is no foundation inscription, but Mükrimin Halil Yinanç recorded the inscription of the nearby lodge before the lodge was demolished. According to that inscription, the lodge was built by Alaüddevle Bozkurt Bey in 1496. There are many legends about Himmet (Ümmet) Baba in Elbistan. Himmet Baba is held to have been a saint, and we see that upon his death this tomb was built following the octagonal form characteristic of Seljuk kümbet architecture.
