The Church of Mor Petrus and Mor Paulus is in the Mara neighborhood of central Adiyaman. Thought to have been built in the 4th or 5th century, the church was repaired in 1888 and 1905, according to the Syriac inscriptions above the entrance and inside. Running east-west, the church has a three-aisled basilical plan. The wooden altar within the apse was made in 1890 by Syriac craftsmen from Urfa and has recently been repaired. The upper level of the narthex on the west opens onto the interior. Also known as St. Paul's Church, it is used today by the Syriac community.
