Since the city developed around Adiyaman Castle and its surroundings, the Keles Mansion also lies within the city's historic district. This traditional mansion in Adiyaman, which has survived to the present and is named for its former function as a mill house, stands in the city center as the only example of its kind. The building was constructed in the 19th century, two storeys high, of finely cut stone. The mansion, which has a mill on the ground floor, features on its front facade a closed oriel projecting outward, with a single window on its front passed over by a semi-arch.
