Editor's Note
It lies within the boundaries of Yeni (Azgıt) Village in the district of Andırın, 6 km from the town center. It is thought to have been built in the 4th century during the Roman period. The region later came under Byzantine rule from 395 until the late 11th century, and the castle took its essential form in that period, while its final shape was given under the Ottomans. In the damage assessment carried out after the February 6 earthquakes, the structure, designated AN-3, was classified as "Heavily Damaged." 1
