Bican Ağa Hanı

Editor's Note

The Bican Ağa Inn was commissioned in 1900 by Kürkçüzade Ahmet Bican Efendi, and its upper floor was used as a guesthouse. Foreigners could stay here free of charge, but it was destroyed by fires. In the 1960s it was operated as a cinema by Ahmet Naci Türkmen, and that too later burned down. The inn is a structure notable for its stonework, but over time its original form has been spoiled by various interventions. Today it is in poor condition, in a state of ruin.
