Editor's Note
The Devecili Mosque was built in 1615 by Ebubekir, son of Kaya. Recorded in the archives as the Devecili Mosque, the building's construction and repair inscriptions are preserved, and according to them the mosque was repaired in 1740, 1872, and 1907. Unfortunately, the mosque has not survived; a new reinforced-concrete mosque was built in 1990 on the site of the demolished structure. Only its minaret and the inscription, which was moved to the door of the new mosque, survive today.
