Editor's Note
It was one of the oldest bridges known to have stood over the Aksu Stream in Kahramanmaras, its existence reaching back to the Roman period. An important crossing that linked Cukurova to Maras for centuries, the structure was described by 19th-century travelers as a magnificent, many-arched Roman bridge and was also mentioned in Ottoman records.
