Editor's Note
It lies in the village of Alamese (Bebikli) in the district of Andirin. According to the sources, we believe Alamese (Babikli) Castle was built in the Roman period during the 4th century. Later, from 395 until the end of the 11th century, the region came under Byzantine rule, and the castle took its main form during this era, while its final shape was given in Ottoman times. The castle was built atop a single, very high and steep rocky outcrop commanding the broad plain through which the Kesis Stream flows. It was constructed in the manner of a watch post to keep a wide area under control.
