It stands on Eski Saray Avenue, west of Uzun Çarşı. Among locals it is also called the Ali Dola Mosque. Alaüddevle (in Evliya Çelebi's Seyahatname it is recorded as having been built between 1479 and 1515, during the time of Alaüddevle Bozkurt Bey of the Dulkadiroğulları) was the last bey of the Dulkadiroğlu Beylik that held sway in Maraş. Although the mosque's construction date is not known for certain, given that Alaüddevle, who commissioned it, died in 1515 CE, it becomes clear that it was built before that date.
