Editor's Note
The Forum of Theodosius was an Eastern Roman public square corresponding partly to today's Beyazıt Square. A forum here was first planned when the area was brought within the city limits under Constantine I; it was heavily developed under Theodosius I, inspired by Trajan's Forum in Rome, and took the name Forum of Theodosius thereafter. Although its exact size is unknown, it is thought to have been the largest forum in the city.
