Editor's Note
Cestrus is a city placed in the Roman province of Isauria by ancient sources, though some scholars derived its name from the river Cestrus (modern Aksu) and located it in Pamphylia. The archaeological site lies southeast of Gazipaşa in Antalya Province, near Macarköy on a 350-metre hill called Kilisetepe, identified as Cestrus from inscriptions. Surviving remains include city walls running along the plateau, a large agora, temples, and a monumental tomb. Epigraphic finds indicate the city flourished in the 1st and 2nd centuries AD.
