Story
Veliefendi Hippodrome, the historic center of Bakırköy, is an important part of Istanbul's rich cultural heritage. Established in the Ottoman period, this expansive hippodrome is known as a prestigious venue where sultans and state dignitaries watched horse races. Bearing the name of Şehzade Veliefendi, son of Suleiman the Magnificent, this structure has survived to the present day, having been restored many times since the 16th century.
