Genetes was a harbour town on the Black Sea coast of ancient Pontus near Cotyora, called Genesintis in the Periplus of Pseudo-Scylax. There were a river (the modern Çaka Deresi) and promontory (Çam Burnu) of the same name; the townsite is unlocated but thought to lie just south of modern Perşembe.
